Short answer

Danjugan Island is a protected marine reserve off Bulata in Cauayan, on the south-west coast. From Bacolod it is a 2.5 to 3.5 hour drive down the coast to the Bulata jump-off, then a short boat across to the island. Access, guiding and any overnight are arranged through the reserve.

Because visits are booked in advance and boat timing matters, a private car to Bulata timed to your reservation is the simplest way. Ceres buses reach Cauayan too, then the reserve boat.

Step by step: Bacolod to Danjugan Island

  1. 1
    Book your island visit

Danjugan is a managed reserve, so arrange your day trip or stay with them before you travel.

  2. 2
    Drive to Bulata

A 2.5 to 3.5 hour private drive south from Bacolod to the Bulata jump-off in Cauayan.

  3. 3
    Cross to the island

A short boat takes you over; the boat and reserve fees are paid through the reserve.

  4. 4
    Return to Bacolod

Your driver waits at Bulata and takes you back once you have crossed back.
