Twin Lakes (Balinsasayao)
The Twin Lakes are where we send travellers who want the quiet Negros: two deep crater lakes, Balinsasayao and Danao, cradled by rainforest in a protected natural park in the hills above Sibulan and San Jose, north-west of Dumaguete.
It is one of Negros Oriental’s stillest, greenest places - kayaks and paddle boats drifting on mirror-calm water, birdsong instead of traffic, and a ridge viewpoint that looks down over both lakes at once.
The lakes are about 25 km from Dumaguete, but the last stretch is a steep, rough uphill road, so the full trip usually takes an hour to an hour and a half. There is no regular public transport to the gate.
That is why most visitors come by private vehicle or charter: our cars handle the climb comfortably, and your driver waits while you walk the viewpoint and paddle the lake.
How to get to Twin Lakes

- Habal-habal from San Jose (public)~1.5 hrs+
By public transport you would take a bus or jeepney to San Jose, then hire a habal-habal up the rough road. Slower and less comfortable, especially in the wet.
