How long is the Twin Lakes day tour?

What time does the Twin Lakes gate open?
The gate is open 8am to 5pm daily, which sets both ends of this tour. The early version is a pickup around 6:30 in the morning to be through the gate as it opens, with the water at its stillest and the ridge clear before cloud gathers - that is as early as the trip goes, since arriving sooner only means waiting at a closed barrier. Visitors are commonly reported to be turned back from about 3 in the afternoon so the trails are empty by dusk; that is one source rather than several, so we plan the day as a morning one rather than relying on it. Do I need a special vehicle for the access road?
The final stretch is sealed the whole way, but it is steep and winding with blind curves and it is the only road in or out, so we use a vehicle in good order and an experienced driver who knows the descent. That is much of the reason a private tour is the easy way up.
Can I combine the Twin Lakes with Valencia?

Can the tour finish at the airport on our departure day?
Yes, and it is a good use of a last morning, because you check out once and the bags ride with your driver instead of sitting in a left-luggage room. The rule is to be back in the car at the park gate about three and a half hours before your departure time: an hour and a half for the descent at its slow end plus the two hours Cebu Pacific asks you to be at the airport, and the terminal at Sibulan is on the lakes side of the city so there is no drive back through Dumaguete. Allow an hour to two up at the lakes on top, and a pickup about seven hours before the flight. That makes an early-afternoon departure the sweet spot rather than a late one, because the gate does not open until 8am and the water is only mirror-calm from then until about midday. How much notice do you need - can I still book this for tomorrow?
Usually we can, and it is worth asking rather than assuming you have left it too late. There is no minimum notice and no cut-off hour, because what decides it is simply whether a vetted driver is free for the day you want.
