I am staying in Dauin. Does the day start from there?
Only if you are diving with a resort that runs its own boat off its own beach. Apo Island is a barangay of Dauin, so maps and listings put the island in the municipality you are already in, but the public bancas do not leave from Dauin. They leave from Malatapay in Zamboanguita, the next municipality south, about 10 km further down the coast, so a Dauin pickup still begins by driving past Dauin rather than from it. Say which of the two you mean when you request a quote and the car is timed to the right beach.
How long is the Apo Island day tour?
Roughly 8 to 10 hours door to door: about 40 to 60 minutes each way by road to Malatapay, a 30 to 45 minute boat each way, and a few hours on and around the island. An early start gives the calmest water.
