How do I get from BREDCO Port to Sipalay after the Iloilo ferry?
Short answer
BREDCO Port - properly the Simplicio Palanca Seaport - is where the Iloilo fast craft put you ashore, and it sits in the middle of Bacolod beside the Reclamation Area and SM City. That is the good news for anyone heading south: the pier is already in the city centre, so the run to Sipalay is the same roughly 170 km down the west coast as it is from anywhere in town, about 2.5 to 4 hours by private car and 4 to 5 by public bus or van.
The catch is that Bacolod has more than one passenger port. If you crossed on the FastCat RORO rather than a fast craft you will land at Banago, north of the city, and you have to cross Bacolod before the southbound coast road even begins. Tell us which boat you are on and we will meet you at the right pier - the two are on opposite sides of the city and it is not a walk between them.
We meet the boat, load the bags and drive straight through to your resort, including the final Sugar Beach or Punta Ballo approach. There is no formal arrivals hall to wait in at either pier, so a driver holding your name is worth more here than it is at an airport.
Step by step: BREDCO Port (Bacolod) to Sipalay
- 1Land and meet your driver
The fast craft from Iloilo takes about an hour and docks at BREDCO in central Bacolod. Your driver meets you at the pier - or at Banago instead if you came over on the vehicle ferry.
- 2Head south down the coast
From BREDCO the road south leaves the city directly, running down the west coast through Kabankalan towards Sipalay.
- 3Break the drive
A private car lets you stop for a meal or a viewpoint on the roughly 170 km run, which matters more after a morning already spent on a boat.
- 4Approach Sugar Beach
A local driver handles the final Sugar Beach or Punta Ballo approach by back road or short boat, and you are dropped at your Sipalay accommodation.

Ways to travel, compared
- Private transfer (what we arrange)~2.5-4 hrs
A private car or van waiting at the pier and running straight to your Sipalay resort, bags and Sugar Beach approach included. Fixed price, request a quote.
- Ceres bus (public)~4-5 hrs
Buses to Sipalay leave from the Bacolod south terminal, not from the pier, so this starts with a taxi or jeepney across town and ends with a tricycle or boat to the beach. Cheapest, and a long day on top of the crossing.
- Shared van (public)~4 hrs
V-hire vans run the coastal route with fewer stops than the bus, again from the city terminal rather than the port, with fixed seats and limited luggage.
BREDCO Port (Bacolod) to Sipalay: FAQs
Which port does the Iloilo ferry arrive at in Bacolod?
The passenger fast craft from Iloilo City dock at BREDCO Port, also called the Simplicio Palanca Seaport, in central Bacolod beside the Reclamation Area and SM City. The FastCat RORO, which is the one that carries vehicles, uses Banago Port to the north of the city instead. They are on opposite sides of Bacolod, so it is worth knowing which boat you are booked on before you arrange a pickup.
How long does it take to get from BREDCO Port to Sipalay?
Roughly 2.5 to 4 hours by private car for the about 170 km down the west coast, and 4 to 5 hours by public bus or van. BREDCO is already in the city centre, so the drive is effectively the same as starting from a Bacolod hotel.
Can I get to Sipalay the same day I cross from Iloilo?
Yes, and comfortably so if you take a morning or early-afternoon boat: the crossing is about an hour and the drive 2.5 to 4 hours, which lands you in Sipalay in daylight. A late-afternoon crossing pushes the arrival and the Sugar Beach approach into the dark, so a Bacolod night and an early start the next day is often the better trip.
Can you meet us at Banago Port instead?
Yes. Just tell us which ferry you are on when you request the quote and we will send the driver to the right pier. Coming into Banago adds the crossing of Bacolod before the southbound road starts, so the timings above are the BREDCO ones.
Can you do the return trip, Sipalay back to BREDCO Port (Bacolod)?
Yes. The same private car and driver, Sipalay back to BREDCO Port (Bacolod) over the same ~170 km. Ask for both legs in one quote request and we price the round trip together.
