Siquijor island day trip
Siquijor still feels a little enchanted to us: the small, mystical island a short hop across the water from Dumaguete, all turquoise waterfall pools, old coral-stone churches and white-sand coves.
It is one of the easiest day trips in the region. Fast-craft ferries cross from Dumaguete port to Siquijor in around 40 to 60 minutes, with OceanJet posting a 7:20 AM first sailing and a Montenegro RORO running from 5:00 AM. Take the 7:20 AM and you are ashore about 8:10 AM with a full island loop ahead of you and the evening boat still to come.
The classic circuit takes in the turquoise tiers and rope swings of Cambugahay Falls, the centuries-old giant balete tree with its fish-nibble foot pool, and the white-sand coves at Salagdoong and Paliton.
Siquijor is a separate island province, so on-island transport is arranged there; from the Dumaguete side we handle the pier transfer and the timing so you make a sensible boat.

How do I get to Siquijor from Dumaguete?
Take a fast-craft ferry from Dumaguete port to Siquijor, about 40 to 60 minutes, with the first posted at 7:20 AM and a slower Montenegro RORO from 5:00 AM. From your hotel or Sibulan airport it is a short 15 to 20 minute ride to the pier, so the 7:20 AM wants a pickup around 6:15 AM. We arrange the private transfer timed to your sailing; the ferry ticket is a public fare paid at the port.
Can I do Siquijor as a day trip?
Yes. The 7:20 AM out and a 6:00 PM back is about nine hours ashore, which loops Cambugahay Falls, the balete tree and a beach without rushing. If the latest return you can get is a mid-afternoon one it is nearer seven hours and the beach is the stop that goes, so book the return before you start the loop. For a more relaxed pace, an overnight lets you see more of the island.
