Short answer

Bacolod is about 30 km west of Mambukal Mountain Resort, 45 minutes to an hour by car back down out of the Murcia hills. It is the same road as the drive up, taken as a descent, and the things that slow it are cane trucks and afternoon rain in the foothills rather than city traffic.

Our Bacolod to Mambukal half-day already includes the drive back, so this page is for everyone else: visitors who stayed a night at the resort, people who came up by jeepney and want an easier ride down with wet clothes and bags, and anyone heading on from Mambukal to a Bacolod hotel, BREDCO port for the Iloilo boat, or Silay. A private car collects you at the resort gate at the time you name and drops you door to door. Resort charges are paid at the resort, outside the car quote.

About 30 km and 45 minutes to an hour west, down out of the hills and back into Bacolod.

  3. 3
Dropped where you are going next

Ways to travel, compared

  • Private transfer (what we arrange)~45 min-1 hr

Door to door from the Mambukal gate to your Bacolod drop-off, with room for luggage and wet gear. Fixed, all-in price for the car, request a quote.

  • Jeepney to Libertad Market (public)~1.5 hrs+

A jeepney or minibus down to the Libertad terminal by Libertad Market, then a taxi or tricycle across the city to your hotel. Cheapest, but nothing waits at the gate on spec, so you work around their departures.

Mambukal (Murcia) to Bacolod: FAQs

How long does it take to get from Mambukal to Bacolod?

About 45 minutes to an hour for the roughly 30 km back down through Murcia. Afternoon rain in the foothills and cane trucks on the road can slow the descent; it is not a road that closes.

Check-out is noon. Can we stay on for the pools and leave later?

Ask the resort whether they will hold your bags after check-out. If they will, tell us the time you want collecting and the car is at the gate then, so the last soak does not have to end at noon.

Do we pass the airport on the way?

No. Bacolod-Silay Airport is about 15 km north of the city near Silay, so it is on the far side of Bacolod from Mambukal. If you are flying out the same day, see the Mambukal to Bacolod-Silay airport page instead: it works the pickup back from your flight.

I am catching the boat to Iloilo next. Can you take us straight to the port?

Yes. BREDCO port, where the Iloilo fast craft sail from, is in the middle of Bacolod beside the Reclamation Area, so name it with the quote request and the car goes straight there rather than stopping at a hotel first.

Can you do the return trip, Bacolod back to Mambukal (Murcia)?

Yes. The same private car and driver, Bacolod back to Mambukal (Murcia) over the same ~30 km. Ask for both legs in one quote request and we price the round trip together. If the way back ends somewhere other than where you started, say where in the Anything else? box on the quote form and we quote that leg instead of the reverse of this one.

How much notice do you need - can I still book this for tomorrow?

Usually yes. There is no minimum notice on this route and no cut-off hour, so a request for tomorrow, or for later today, is worth sending rather than writing off. What settles it is whether a vetted driver is free for the time you need, and you will have the answer and the price by email the same day, usually within a few hours. An early start is routine here rather than a complication. The part that gets harder with less notice is choice - holding a particular vehicle size or an exact pickup hour - not whether the journey can happen, so send the date and, if the timing is tight, the hour you need to be moving.

Do I pay anything up front, and when do I pay the rest?

Nothing to ask for a quote. Once you are happy with the price it is two steps, not a choice between two: a booking fee paid online (card, bank transfer or GCash) confirms the trip and is what gets you your written confirmation, then the balance goes directly to your driver at the end of the journey. The fee is part of the all-in figure you agreed rather than an extra on top of it, and your quote states it before you pay. Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup refunds the fee in full.

Coming back to somewhere else - a different town, the airport, a pier for an onward boat? Say where in the Anything else? box on the form and we price the return to that instead of back to the start.
