Dumaguete is about 172 km from Sipalay and roughly 3.5 to 4.5 hours by car, so the two airports are a similar drive from the same beach. What separates them is your ticket and the far end: Bacolod-Silay has the wider domestic schedule, and Dumaguete suits you better if you are connecting on to Siquijor, Dauin or Cebu by ferry afterwards. Yes, and with 3 to 4.5 hours ahead of you it usually makes a better day than driving it straight. Kabankalan sits roughly halfway and is the practical food stop. Bulata in Cauayan, the Danjugan Island jump-off, is 30 to 45 minutes up the coast if you want a last look at that stretch of sea. Nearer the top, Silay is about 5 km and ten minutes short of the terminal, so its heritage houses and El Ideal Bakery turn a dead hour before an afternoon flight into the best part of it, with the luggage staying in the car. Not for this. Sipalay is a small coastal town about 190 km from the terminal and there is no metered airport service waiting there on spec.
