Short answer
Sibulan Port is the Negros landing point of the short crossing from Liloan (Santander) at Cebu’s southern tip, and it sits about 7 km north of Dumaguete. The ride into the city takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes on the coastal highway, so you are at your hotel not long after you step off the boat.
There is nothing to arrange at the pier. Send us your sailing, your driver is waiting as you walk out with a named sign, and the bags go straight in the car. From there we either drop you in central Dumaguete or carry on the same day to Dauin, Valencia, the Twin Lakes or the Malatapay boats for Apo Island.

Maayo Shipping works the Liloan (Santander) to Sibulan crossing nine times a day in each direction, first sailing 4:30 AM and last 10:30 PM, regular passenger fare ₱120 as verified in July 2026. They are three hours apart through the daytime - 4:30 AM, 6:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:00 NN, 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM - and 90 minutes apart for the last three, so it is worth booking a specific boat. A passenger-only fast craft runs the same corridor in about 20 to 30 minutes, though we have never verified its timetable and do not plan around it. The ticket is a public fare paid at the port.

Southbound buses on the coastal highway pass Sibulan and run into Dumaguete. Cheap and frequent in daylight, but it drops you at the terminal rather than your hotel and it is a poor fit with dive gear or a family’s luggage.

Tricycles wait outside the gate and will take the run into the city. Fine solo with a daypack, cramped and hot with real luggage, and the fare is negotiated on the spot.

How far is Sibulan port from Dumaguete?
About 7 km. The drive south on the coastal highway takes roughly 15 to 20 minutes depending on traffic through Sibulan, so most arrivals are at their hotel within half an hour of the boat docking.
Is Sibulan port the same place as Dumaguete airport?
No, though both are in Sibulan and only minutes apart, which catches people out. The pier is where the Liloan crossing from Cebu lands; Dumaguete-Sibulan (DGT) airport is the separate air terminal a short distance away. Tell us which one you are arriving at and your driver meets you there.
Should I cross at Sibulan or at Tampi?
Less than people think, because the two Cebu piers are about a 10-minute tricycle ride apart, round the southern tip between Santander and Samboan. So the coast you came down suggests a pier rather than locking you into one. Coming down the east coast through Oslob you are already at Liloan, and Sibulan lands you about 7 km from Dumaguete; coming down the west coast through Moalboal you are already at Bato, and Tampi is an 18 km run south instead. What is worth the tricycle is the timetable, and the honest version is that both have a midday hole. Liloan to Sibulan runs nine sailings a day, first 4:30 AM and last 10:30 PM, but three hours apart in the daytime: 6:00 AM, 9:00 AM, 12:00 NN, 3:00 PM, 6:00 PM. Bato to Tampi has seven, with nothing between 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM. Which pier wins therefore depends on the hour you reach one, not on the pier: at eleven in the morning Liloan has a noon boat and Bato has nothing until two, so the tricycle pays; at half past one it is the other way round. If you reach one pier just after its boat has gone, ask what is next from the other before you sit down to wait - and we meet either sailing.
Can you meet a late or delayed sailing?
Yes. Send us the sailing you are booked on and we track it. If the boat is held for weather or runs late, your driver waits, there is nothing to rebook and no extra charge for the delay.
Can you take me straight on from the pier without stopping in Dumaguete?
Yes, and it is a common ask. Dauin, Valencia, the Twin Lakes, Bais and the Malatapay jump-off for Apo Island are all reachable the same day from the pier. Tell us the final address when you request a quote and we price the whole run as one fixed fare.

How much notice do you need - can I still book this for tomorrow?
Usually yes. There is no minimum notice on this route and no cut-off hour, so a request for tomorrow, or for later today, is worth sending rather than writing off. What settles it is whether a vetted driver is free for the time you need, and you will have the answer and the price by email the same day, usually within a few hours. An early start is routine here rather than a complication. The part that gets harder with less notice is choice - holding a particular vehicle size or an exact pickup hour - not whether the journey can happen, so send the date and, if the timing is tight, the hour you need to be moving.
Do I pay anything up front, and when do I pay the rest?
Nothing to ask for a quote. Once you are happy with the price it is two steps, not a choice between two: a booking fee paid online (card, bank transfer or GCash) confirms the trip and is what gets you your written confirmation, then the balance goes directly to your driver at the end of the journey. The fee is part of the all-in figure you agreed rather than an extra on top of it, and your quote states it before you pay. Free cancellation more than 72 hours before pickup refunds the fee in full.
Do you book the boat, or do I?
You book the crossing, and the Cebu boats are settled at the port on the day - they are public passenger fares you buy from the operator, and we neither sell them nor mark them up. What we quote is the private road leg each side of the water, plus the waiting and the timing. This is the crossing where naming your boat matters most: four of the daytime gaps on the Liloan-Sibulan run are three hours each, so which sailing you aim at moves your pickup by hours rather than minutes.
