Sibulan Airport (DGT) Bais
Bais is about 40 km from Dumaguete-Sibulan airport (DGT), an hour to an hour and a half by private car, heading north up the coast past Dumaguete. Dolphin-watching boats leave the Bais wharf in the morning to cruise the Tañon Strait, usually continuing to the Manjuyod sandbar for a swim and lunch.

Sibulan Airport (DGT) Apo Island
Apo Island is reached from Dumaguete-Sibulan airport (DGT) in two parts: a road leg south to Malatapay beach in Zamboanguita, then a banca boat across to the island. Sibulan sits about 7 km north of Dumaguete and Malatapay is roughly 25 km south of the city, so it is around 32 km end to end, usually 1 to 1.25 hours by private car. From Malatapay the outrigger crossing takes about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the sea.

Cebu to Negros ferry: times, fares & crossings
Two RORO ferry crossings link south Cebu with Negros Oriental: Liloan (Santander) to Sibulan, right beside Dumaguete, and Bato (Samboan) to Tampi, a little further north. Maayo Shipping sails Liloan-Sibulan nine times a day each way from 4:30 AM to 10:30 PM. For Bato-Tampi, every published schedule agrees on seven departures each way: 5:00 AM, 8:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 2:00 PM, 5:00 PM, 8:00 PM and 11:30 PM. Some sources list extra boats, so treat those seven as the dependable floor and confirm locally if you need a sailing between them. Both crossings take vehicles. We do not print a Bato-Tampi fare because current sources disagree by more than double and none is the operator.

- The usual way from Cebu to Dumaguete is a long drive down the length of Cebu and a short boat across the end of it. From the Cebu South Bus Terminal to Liloan port at Santander, on Cebu’s southern tip, is about 136 km, which is roughly two hours of free-flow road and realistically three to four with Cebu City traffic and the coast towns. Then the sea part is almost nothing: the Tañon Strait is only about 6.5 km wide at that point, and the fast craft crosses to Sibulan in 20 to 30 minutes, nine sailings a day each way from 4:30 AM to 10:30 PM. The ferry ticket is a fixed public fare paid at the port.

A short fast-craft crossing links Liloan at the southern tip of Cebu with Sibulan, right beside Dumaguete on Negros, in roughly 20 to 30 minutes, so you can see the best of south Cebu (Oslob whale sharks, Kawasan, Moalboal) and then hop across to Dumaguete for Apo Island, Siquijor and the waterfalls.
